Libraries are boring, right? Wrong!
An increasing number of our libraries have areas specially
designed for and by young people with relaxed seating and even
listening posts.
Is your library not quite there yet? Ok, it is going to take
some time to make improvements everywhere, but why don't you fill
in a comment card at your local library or send a suggestion by
email?
Want to know what to do in your spare time?
Ask staff at your local library for:
- all the latest films, as well as the classics that you want to
watch again
and again
- chart CDs from hip hop to heavy rock
- opening times for leisure centres and the cinema
- a selection of magazines to read in the library
- information about local events
- help with projects and
homework
- free
internet access
- information about
clubs and societies
- careers and course information
- newspapers and books to help you in your job search
- volunteering information, for schemes such as the Duke of
Edinburgh
- a great selection of books.
If you'd like to talk to others about books, why not ask about
setting up a
book club at your local library? They already take place at
Swanley, Maidstone and Dover.
